Plot[]

Newborns, Nagi and Erika were switched at birth and live out their lives with their foster parents and in the present are set to meet each other along with their biological parents.

Summary[]

Years ago, a young girl and boy were born at a hospital and would be the start of a great mistake that would forever change the lives of the two children. At the present, at the Umino Family Diner, Nagi multi-tasks frying a couple of eggs for breakfast while studying English words. He's soon joined by his sister Sachi who just woke up and demands that she take the egg with the bigger yolk that he's preparing. Nagi, however, refuses as the yolk contains vitamins that improve memory function. Sachi then steps out of the picture and argues with their father Yohei off-screen and then their mother Namie enters the scene and asks where she left her earrings and Nagi informs her where they were. Thankful for that information, Namie thanks him and looks forward to meeting his real parents and their real daughter. As Nagi sits in his room and thinks about being switched at birth, his parents tell him that they'll be waiting for him down in the dining hall and to not be late. Also, Namie wishes Nagi a happy birthday, which makes him blush. Sachi then asks Nagi if he's going to live with his biological parents, but he refuses and plans to go to the library and study in the meantime. As for why it's to beat his rival, this prompts Sachi to mention Nagi's idiosyncrasies. Nagi laughs and brushes off the comments, but tearfully, Sachi claims that she doesn't want him to leave, and he reassures her that he isn't leaving.

On his way to the library, Nagi spots a young girl appearing as if she was about to jump off the bridge over the highway and tries to rescue her. The young girl futilely tries to explain that she wasn't trying to jump off the bridge, however, Nagi still impetuously tries to rescue the girl causing her to fall backward and touch her bosom. This makes the girl smack Nagi in the face and inform him that she was merely, "pretending to kill herself" for her Inusta account. Her reason for doing it is because she wants to convince her mother to cancel an upcoming marriage. The news shocks Nagi as he's in a similar situation and they both learn that Nagi is a mix-baby while the girl has an upcoming arranged marriage. The girl then introduces herself as Erika while also noting what school she goes to and Nagi recalls that his fellow male peers are enamored with her because of her Inusta account. Nagi then introduced himself and the school he goes to named Megurogawa Academy. This shocks Erika as she claims it's a super-elite prep school and following an epiphany that she had, she makes Nagi her "pretend" boyfriend. After elaborating her plan, Nagi still refuses to go along with the plan and tries to walk away, only to be shown a video by Erika of her chest being grabbed by Nagi. Erika plans to use this as blackmail material to get Nagi to agree to be her pretend boyfriend so her arranged marriage could be canceled. They try and prove this by taking a picture together, but fail several times to get Nagi to look right. To remedy this, Erika takes Nagi to do some clothes shopping.

At the end of their shopping trip, they settle with some punk rap clothes and once again try and take a photograph together. Because the photograph needed to show "strength" Nagi misinterpreted Erika's family to be yakuza, but she clarifies that they're hotel moguls. Erika then goes on to talk about pictures and how important the "air" must be and ultimately decides to use the first picture they took together. Right as Erika sent the picture, her father texts her that he doesn't believe her, but also about her curfew. At that moment, three guys who turn out to be stalkers of Erika confront them. One of the stalkers tries to get physical with Nagi after learning he's Erika's contractual boyfriend, but Nagi throws a punch at him causing him to fall backward. Warning the stalkers to leave Erika be, the stalkers flee the scene while apologizing. This gives Erika another great idea to get her parents to call off the wedding, to simply punch the person in the face. Erika then says her goodbyes to Nagi and is then driven off by her chauffeur and Nagi is alerted by his phone about his own commitments.

That night, Nagi meets with his biological parents who turn out to be Erika's parents and they also reveal that they've arranged for them to get married together. The following day, Nagi's rival Hiro Segawa bumps into him and when she walks away, Nagi openly declares that he'll beat her in the next exam. As it turns out, Hiro's type of person is one who's smarter than her.
