A Couple of Cuckoos Wiki

"Be My Boyfriend!" is the first chapter of The Cuckoo's Fiancee manga series and the first chapter of Volume 1.

Summary[]

Nagi Umino was mistakenly switched at birth with another baby. He currently attends a prestigious private high school but struggles to achieve the first place of his year.

One day, most likely during a break, Nagi prepared to meet his biological parents whom he had just known about one month ago. Sachi Umino, his (no longer biological) little sister had expressed concerns about Nagi leaving, but Nagi reassured her that he has no intention of becoming his biological parents' son. However, while traveling to the meeting place, he met Erika Amano, an incredibly high-class high-school girl who claims that she is on the way to meet her fiancee. Erika had asked Nagi to be her fake boyfriend to which he reluctantly accepted, in order to fool her father. Despite their efforts, they failed. Nevertheless, they appreciated each others' company and parted ways.

To both of their surprises, it turns out that Nagi's biological parents are Erika's current parents and vice-versa; in addition, through those four's decisions, Erika's fiance is actually Nagi.

Once the next semester started, Nagi encountered Hiro Segawa, the current first place, and declared that he will crush her on the next aptitude test. However, this is all in order to confess to her by becoming the type of guy who she likes, which is someone smarter than her.
